
Rayz Acquire Jay Latulippe From Odessa

The Corpus Christi Rayz acquired the rights to forward Jay Latulippe (la-TOO-lip) from the Odessa Jackalopes for future considerations on Monday afternoon, Rayz Head Coach, Ken McRae announced. Latulippe was in his second season with the Jacks and third pro season. Last year, Latulippe finished third on the Jacks in goals and fourth in points with 42 points (17g, 25a) in 51 games. This season, Latulippe has two goals and four points in 20 games. The Rayz return to the ice on Wednesday morning for the 4th Annual Cool School Day Game, presented by the American Bank Center, SMG and the City of Corpus Christi. The Rayz host the Arizona Sundogs at 11:05am and will welcome in more than 3,000 local area students. Tickets for the game are on sale now. Call 361.814.PUCK for more information.
Latulippe, 25, played in 71 games for the Jackalopes over the last two seasons and combined for 19 goals and 46 points. The Saratoga, NY native also chimed in with 111 penalty minutes, including 91 last season. Before joining the Jacks, Latulippe played in three games with the Laredo Bucks. Latulippe spent his first pro season in 2005-2006 in the ECHL where he spent the majority of the year with the Dayton Bombers. He also played a dozen games with the Augusta Lynx, combining for 14 goals and 39 points. Prior to turning pro, the 5'10", 180 lbs. Latulippe played four seasons of collegiate hockey at Clarkson University where he totaled 45 goals, 58 assists and 103 points in 146 games. In six career games versus the Rayz, Latulippe has scored two goals and has three points - all with the Jacks.
Prior to the deal for Latulippe, the Rayz had 18 players on their active roster. Central Hockey League regulations allow 19 players on a roster this season.
