Rocky Mountain Rage Weekly Update
December 3, 2007 - Central Hockey League (CHL)
Rocky Mountain Rage News Release
LAST WEEK'S RECORD: 0-1-1 OVERALL RECORD: 12-2-2, 26 pts., 1st Place Northwest Division
Nov. 30 vs. Arizona, 4-3 OTL - Rocky Mountain's franchise-best seven-game winning streak came to an end when the team gave-up a short-handed goal in overtime to the Sundogs' Tyler Redenbach. Scott Wray, Chip Dunleavy, and Trevor Weisgerber scored in the losing effort.
Dec. 1 @ New Mexico, 4-2 Loss - In New Mexico with a chance to avenge their only regulation loss of the season, the Rage fell behind, 3-0, after the first period. But the team rallied behind power play goals from Daymen Rycroft and Nathan Rosychuk to make it a one-goal contest heading to the third. The Scorpions' defense proved too stingy the rest of the way and an insurance goal off a penalty shot in the final minute provided the final margin.

STILL THE TEAM TO BEAT
Despite losing twice last week, the Rage still have the league's highest winning percentage (.813) and lead the Northwest Division by five points over the Colorado Eagles.
STUNG BY THE SCORPIONS
Rocky Mountain has made two trips to New Mexico and suffered its only two regulation losses of the season. On Nov. 3, exactly four weeks before Saturday's setback, the Scorpions defeated the Rage, 10-0. Slow starts have doomed Rocky Mountain at the Santa Ana Star Center. Just in the first period during the two games, New Mexico has outscored the Rage by a combined 8-0 and piled up a shot advantage of 39-15.
BUT AGAINST THE REST OF THE LEAGUE...
...the Rage are 12-0-2 and have outscored their opposition, 62-34. Rocky Mountain certainly bounced back following its last lost to New Mexico, reeling off a team-record eight-game unbeaten streak (7-0-1).
CIRCLE THE RE-MATCH
Not only will the Rage look avenge their two losses to the Scorpions, but plenty of bad blood will carry over, as well, due to a slashing / cross-checking incident that found players from both teams in the wrong as the buzzer sounded on Saturday. When the dust settled, the teams combined for 154 penalty minutes, setting new penalty minute records for Rocky Mountain in five different categories. The re-match is Dec. 21 at Broomfield Event Center in the first of two remaining games between the clubs.
SCORING STREAKS CONTINUE
Brent Cullaton and Tyler Butler registered points in both games last weekend, extending a team-record scoring streak to nine games for both players. Rage leading scorer Scott Wray had an eight-game point streak snapped at New Mexico. He has at least one point in every game this season except the two against the Scorpions.
WRAY CONTINUED
The ninth-year pro is tied for second in the CHL with 33 points as the week begins. His 12 goals pace the team, and his 21 assists are the third most in the league. Cullaton also has 21 assists. Butler is tied for sixth in scoring among defensemen with 16 points (3g-13a).
