Hidalgo, Texas --- The Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees of the Central Hockey League and KGBT Action 4 News are asking fans to bring new or gently loved stuffed animals to this Friday's game vs. Arizona to participate in the annual "Teddy Bear Toss" when the Bees score their first goal of the game.

Over the first four seasons of hockey in the Rio Grande Valley, the Killer Bees and Action 4 News have helped Toys for Tots collect more than 5000 stuffed animals to distribute to local hospitals, charities and other deserving organizations during the holiday season.

This season, fans are encouraged to place the stuffed animals into plastic bags in an effort to reduce wear and tear as the animals are collected and distributed. Plastic bags will be available at the Dodge Arena entrances.

"Our fans have always responded to our charitable efforts during the holiday season," said Killer Bees President/Owner Troy Nelson. "We're hoping to make this year even better than the last four."

The team will also be collecting toys at this Friday's game to distribute to local children's hospitals and homes as part of the annual Killer Bee Foundation Toy Drive. Fans can donate toys at the Pena Eye Institute Information Booth inside the Dodge Arena.

The Killer Bees host Arizona this Friday at 7:30 p.m. before heading out on a two-week, six-game road trip.
