South Carolina Stingrays News Release

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC Tomorrow evening, the South Carolina Stingrays will go trick-or-treating as part of the teams Safe Trick-or-Treat program. On Halloween night, ten Stingrays will be paired with ten separate area youngsters. The pairs will go out for a Safe Trick-or-Treat in the neighborhoods of the participants. Winners of the Safe Trick-or-Treat were picked at random from a contest that has been running on the Stingrays website and at home games since the beginning of the season.

"What could be more safe than Trick-or-Treating with a hockey player," said Stingrays Director of Promotions and Operations Michael Bonasia. "The winning boys and girls are very excited and I think the players will have some fun and receive some candy along the way as well.

The Stingrays plan to continue the program next season as well. The winning kids and their Stingray partner are listed below.

Drew Friedrichs and Trevor Johnson
Alex Zimmer and Curtis Huppe
Matthew Mlotok and Ryan Brindley
Joshua Giles and Dave Seitz
Nathan DeVries and Kirk Daubenspeck
Jonathon Glenn and Joel Irving
Will Doscher and Matt Desrosiers
Brandon Duncan and Peter Armbrust
Michael Lewandowski and Mike Jickling
Shawn Singletary and Aaron Schneekloth

The Stingrays wrap up an eight game home stand this weekend with games on Friday and Saturday night against the Florida Everblades. The Stingrays have won a team record six games to begin the season and need to win twice this weekend to tie the ECHL record of eight wins at the start of a season.

Game time for this weekend's games at the North Charleston Coliseum is 7:30. Tickets are still available at 554-6060 or at the coliseum box office. Fans can tune in to all the play-by-play action beginning at 7:05 on News Talk 1250 WTMA or stingrayshockey.com.
