Rayjon Tucker Earns NBA Call-Up with Minnesota Timberwolves

OSHKOSH, Wis. - The Minnesota Timberwolves announced today they have signed Wisconsin Herd guard, Rayjon Tucker to a 10-day hardship contract.

Rayjon Tucker has appeared and started in all 13 games for the Herd this season. He is currently averaging 17.1 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 2.8 assists per game and 1.4 steals per game. He averages the most minutes per game on the team with 32.2 minutes while shooting 43.8% from field goal range, 29.7% from the 3 point-line and 68.8% from the free-throw line.

Tucker holds the team's season-high record in free throws made with seven in one game. In all 13 games, he has scored in double digits including two 20+ point efforts.

In 2019-20 Rayjon started his career with the Wisconsin Herd after being waived by the Milwaukee Bucks. He played in 16 games for the Herd averaging 23.8 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 assists. Tucker signed with the Utah Jazz in December 2019 and was assigned to the Salt Lake City Stars for three games. During the 2019-20 season, Tucker appeared in 20 games for the Utah Jazz averaging 3.1 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.3 assists.

In the 2020-21 season, Rayjon appeared in 15 games for the Delaware Bluecoats averaging 19.4 points, 4.7 rebounds and 4.1 assists. Rayjon also appeared in 14 games for the Philadelphia 76ers averaging 2.4 points, 0.8 rebounds and 0.4 assists.

A hardship contract is a temporary roster spot that allows teams to add more players beyond their roster limit. Teams are allowed to do this when they have experienced multiple players being out due to injury or illness.

The Wisconsin Herd will return to action at home on Monday, December 27th when they take on the Long Island Nets with tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m. CST.
