December 21, 2021 - NBA G League (G League)
Greensboro Swarm News Release
(LAS VEGAS, N.V.) - Arnoldas Kulboka scored a season-high 28 points off the bench to power the Greensboro Swarm, the NBA G League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, past the Memphis Hustle (Memphis Grizzlies affiliate) 122-118 on Monday at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. The contest was the first of two games the Swarm will play as a part of the AT&T NBA G League Winter Showcase - the league's annual in-season scouting event.
Kulboka's big performance saw the two-way player shoot 9-for-11 from the field, including hitting seven 3-pointers. He snagged nine rebounds and added four assists during an outstanding 29 minutes of action. The Lithuanian has scored at least 20 points in four games this season.
Greensboro (4-9) trailed 65-54 at halftime as the Hustle (6-7) seemingly could not miss from deep range. Memphis hit 14 of their 20 three-point shots in the first half while the Swarm connected on 11. However, the resilient Greensboro squad added another 11 triples in the second half on the way to victory.
Eight different players hit a 3-pointer for the Swarm, including Xavier Sneed (20 points, four assists), DJ Carton (14 points, seven assists), LiAngelo Ball (11 points, four rebounds), Cameron McGriff (10 points, eight rebounds), Kai Jones (nine points, five rebounds) and Scottie Lewis (nine points, six assists). Greensboro's 54 percent shooting on threes was a season best.
Memphis put forth a valiant effort on the second night of their Showcase back-to-back. Leading the way was Cameron Young's 29 points on 9-of-19 shooting. David Stockton added 25 points and five assists while Reggie Hearn (22 points, nine rebounds, seven assists) was near a triple-double.
Greensboro closes out their time at the Showcase on Wednesday, December 22, at 3:00 p.m. ET/12:00 p.m. PT with a matchup against the Iowa Wolves (Minnesota Timberwolves affiliate). The game will be televised on NBATV.
