Rancho Cucamonga Quakes News Release
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Visalia Rawhide got a bit of revenge on Wednesday night, as they downed the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes by a final of 10-2, the same exact score of the previous game at LoanMart Field that went to the home team.
Visalia starter Blake Walston (2-1) was exceptional, as he fired 6.2 innings of shutout baseball.
Robbie Peto (0-2) got saddled with the loss, but pitched well in defeat, allowing two runs on just two hits over 3.1 innings.
An eight-run sixth put the game out of reach, with Neyfy Castillo's three-run homer capping the inning to make it 10-0.
Rancho finished with just four hits offensively and didn't score until the ninth. Jonny DeLuca extended his hitting streak to 13 with an infield single in his final at-bat with one out in the ninth. That helped the Quakes to load the bases against reliever Harrison Francis, who plunked back-to-back hitters with two outs to help Rancho break up the shutout.
The Quakes (20-17) will look to bounce back on Thursday, as Jimmy Lewis (0-1) takes on Visalia's Justin Martinez (1-3) at 6:35pm.
Thursday night is our first Thirsty Thursday of the year, as fans can enjoy $3 Pepsi products, $4 domestic drafts and $5 premium drafts and wine throughout the night. Tickets are available for all Quakes home games at rcquakes.com.
