Rawhide Host Cow Appreciation Day
July 7, 2010 - California League (CalL1)
Visalia Rawhide News Release
Visalia, CA - Tipper T. Bull won't be the only bovine at Recreation Ballpark this coming Saturday. July 10th is "Cow Appreciation Day," presented by KJUG, where Rawhide fans will show their gratitude to the cows that make Tulare County the biggest dairy-producing region in the world.
As the gates open at 6pm, the first 500 kids under 12 will receive a paint-your-own Tipper bobblehead. More fun will kick off at 6:15, when EMI Recording Country Music artist Troy Olsen will take the stage for a pre-game concert, presented by KJUG! Olsen has written songs recorded by Buck Owens, Johnny Paycheck, Tammy Wynette, the Kendalls, and Alan Jackson. At the ballpark, he will feature one of his new hit singles "Summer Thing" and be available to fans for a meet-and-greet shortly after he throws out the first pitch.
During the game, fans will be able to admire two brand new calves who will be featured in a "Cow Patty Bingo" event. Squares will be sold to those who want to participate in this 50/50 raffle. The winner will be chosen based on which square a calf, well...makes a patty in first.
Other fun includes a coloring contest for the kids, country backyard BBQ, and of course, a baseball game: the Rawhide take on the Bakersfield Blaze at 7:00. This night is sure to be a fun time for the whole family!
Tickets start at just $5 and can be purchased online at RawhideBaseball.com, over the phone (559-732-4433 x26), or at the Ballpark Ticket Office (300 N. Giddings St.).
