Albany River Rats News Release

Bridgeport, CT - Drayson Bowman and Bryan Rodney scored shootout goals to lift the Albany River Rats to a 2-1 victory over the Bridgeport Sound Tigers Tuesday night at the Arena at Harbor Yard.

River Rats goaltender Justin Peters denied all four Bridgeport shooters faced, and Bowman and Rodney connected in fourth and fifth rounds of the shootout, respectively, to extend Albany's point streak to five games (4-0-1-0) with the club's second straight win.

River Rats veteran winger Steven Goertzen scored the game's first goal at 5:45 of the first period, firing home a big rebound from defenseman Jonathan Paiement's blast. Albany clung to its one-goal lead until 6:06 of the third period, when former River Rats defenseman Mark Flood sent a sharp pass to Greg Moore at the far post to knot the game.

Peters stopped 34-of-35 shots faced in regulation and overtime to earn his 17th win of the season, as Albany improved to 25-16-3-2 this season. Bridgeport goalie Nathan Lawson stopped 31-of-32 shots faced and took the loss, as the Sound Tigers fell to 22-20-2-4 this year. The Sound Tigers out-shot the River Rats 35-33 in the game and went 0-for-2 on the power play, while Albany went 0-for-4 on the man-advantage.

Albany continues its four-game road trip on Friday in Rochester with a 7:05 p.m. faceoff against the Americans.
