O'Fallon, MO - The Rascals (50-38) walked off 1-0 over the Lake Erie Crushers (36-51) in 10 innings on Friday, August 28 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark. The Rascals are now 5-2 against the Crushers this year. The game was scoreless until the bottom of the 10th inning. With two outs and no one on, 3B Taylor Ard swung at the first pitch he saw and took Trevor Longfellow (L, 5-9) deep for the Rascals' fourth walk-off and fifth extra-inning victory. Ard's homerun was his league best 26th of the season and his second walk-off hit.

LHP Lucas Laster made his 13th start of the season. He held the Crushers scoreless through 5.1 innings. The lefty allowed seven hits and one walk while striking out three batters. He left the game with men on second and third with one out, but RHP Will Schierholz stranded both men and pitched a scoreless seventh inning. RHP Derek Cape, RHP Victor Beriguete, and RHP Zeb Sneed (W, 4-3) each tossed 1.0 shutout inning of relief.

Lake Erie starter Todd Kibby received a no-decision after allowing just four hits and a walk over 4.0 innings. Mike Devine, Kolby Moore, Matt Brankle, and Ryan Richardson combined for 5.0 frames out of the bullpen.

The Rascals combined for three outfield assists. LF Casey Rodrigue threw two men out, including Mark Fowler at home in the sixth inning. RF Jackson Slaid also threw a runner out at third base.

The Rascals and Lake Erie Crushers continue their series on Saturday, August 29 at T.R. Hughes Ballpark at 6:35 p.m. CDT. RHP Tim Koons (9-0, 3.99) looks to become of the Rascals' first 10-game winner; RHP Brad Duffy (8-4, 3.27) takes the mound for the Crushers.
