
Rascals Rout Grizzlies, 16-5, in Game Two

The River City Rascals banged out 14 hits and scored 16 runs in a rout of the Gateway Grizzlies Saturday night in front of 3,417 at GMC Stadium. The Grizzlies are now 0-2 on the season, the Rascals are 2-0. The Rascals used two more home runs, and were helped by shaky Grizzlies pitching and six errors. Brett Parsons started and took the loss for the Grizzlies. Parsons lasted just one-plus innings allowing five runs, three earned on just one hit. Scott Patterson had a good performance for the Grizzlies going 4 innings, allowing no runs on three hits. He struck out five, and walked one. Josh Lane and Ed Breachaud each allowed five runs a piece. Michael Golden pitched the ninth, allowing one run. Phil Warren was a bright spot for the Grizzlies offensively. Warren went two-for-four with a single and a home run. He had four of the five Grizzlies runs batted in. River City will go for their first ever sweep of the Grizzlies when the two teams meet on Sunday night at 6:05 at GMC Stadium.
