
Rascals Beat Aviators 10-5 in Series Opener

Brian Hansen went 5-for-5 including a three run homer to pace a 15 hit attack for the River City Rascals (20-13) as the Rascals topped the Rockford Aviators (22-11) 10-5 in the first game of a three game series between the Frontier League's top two West Division teams Tuesday night at T. R. Hughes Ballpark in O'Fallon, MO.
Dane Stone (3-1) pitched 7.1 innings to earn the victory while Kyle Brueggemann (4-2) suffered the loss. Brueggemann went 5.1 innings giving up seven earned runs on 11 hits, including Hansen's round tripper that made the score 9-2 in the sixth inning. Danny Canela and Taylor Ard also had back-to-back first inning blasts for River City while Dusty Robinson had a two run shot for Rockford. Michael Hur, the league's second leading hitter (357), also had two hits and an RBI for the Aviators.
The two teams resume their series Wednesday morning (11:05 am) as Rockford continues its six game road trip. The Aviators return home on Tuesday, June 30 (6:35) when they host the Florence Freedom at Aviator Stadium in Loves Park, IL.
