GRAND JUNCTION, COLO. - The Ogden Raptors won two games against the Grand Junction Rockies Wednesday night at Suplizio Field and have taken over first place in the Pioneer League Southern Division.

Tuesday's game was suspended after a protest overturned a Raptors forfeit and was made up before Wednesday's scheduled game.

The Raptors finished the suspended game and picked up a win 4-3.

The game resumed in the bottom of the seventh with Ogden leading 4-2. Joe Broussard pitched a scoreless seventh.

The Rockies got a run in the eighth on a sacrifice fly by Dom Nunez to cut the Raptors lead to 4-3.

Broussard retired the Rockies in order in the ninth to pick up his third save of the year.

All four of the Raptors runs in the first game came in the fourth inning. Cody Bellinger singled to start the inning. Julian Leon then followed with a two-run homer to centerfield, his 11th of the season. Two batters later, Andrew Godbold hit a solo homer, his third of the year. After a Jimmy Allen groundout, Mike Ahmed, Kelvin Ramos and Billy Bereszniewicz hit consecutive singles to push across another run and put Ogden up 4-1.

Brock Stewart earned his second win, pitching the middle three innings. He allowed one run on two hits and struck out five to get the win.

In Wednesday's regularly scheduled game, the Raptors won 5-4 by scoring two runs in the top of the ninth.

Tied 3-3, Rockies closer Alec Crawford got two quick outs. Colin Hering kept the inning alive with a double down the right-field line. Allen followed with a triple to give the Raptors the lead. Bereszniewicz then hit an RBI single up the middle for an insurance run, taking a 5-3 lead to the bottom of the ninth.

Randy Reyes started the bottom of the inning with a single and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Nate Causey then drew a pinch-hit walk to put the tying run on base. Karch Kowalczyk then relieved Oaks to finish the game. Forrest Wall then dropped down a sacrifice bunt to advance the runners to second and third. Luis Castro walked to load the bases for Roberto Ramos. The first baseman hit an RBI single to right, scoring Reyes and keeping the bases loaded. Luis Jean then hit a grounder to third base and Mike Ahmed threw out Causey at the plate for the second out. Kowalczyk then struck out Wes Rogers looking to end the game with a 5-4 Raptors win.

The Raptors benefitted with solo homers from Ivan Vela and Hering in the second inning.

The two wins gave the Raptors their eighth win in their last 10 games. Seven of the eight wins have been by one run. The recent surge has put Ogden in first place, a half game ahead of Grand Junction.

The Raptors and Rockies finish their four-game series Thursday. Right-handed pitcher Jeff Brigham takes the mound for Ogden as he faces James Lomangino. Game starts at 7:05.
