Ogden Raptors News Release

The Ogden Raptors held off a late-inning rally from the Billings Mustangs to win 11-10 Saturday night at Lindquist Field.

The Raptors took an 11-4 lead into the eighth inning, but the Mustangs made it interesting. Brian O'Grady walked to start the inning and was followed by a two-run homer by Aristides Aquino to cut the Raptors' lead to 11-6.

In the ninth, Raptors reliever Edinson Bock walked Shed Long and Argenis Aldazoro on eight pitches to start the inning. After a flyout and a popout, O'Grady launched a three-run homer to right field, his third of the season.

Lenix Osuna then replaced Bock and immediately allowed Aquino to hit his second homer of the night right down the left-field line to make it a one-run game.

Osuna then got Taylor Sparks to fly out to left to end the game to convert his second save.

The Raptors built their lead by scoring 11 straight runs after falling behind 4-0. In the bottom of the third, the Raptors scored three runs on an RBI single from Devan Ahart and a two-run double by Julian Leon.

Ogden took the lead in the fourth, scoring on a passed ball, an Ahart run-scoring triple and a wild pitch.

In the fifth, the Raptors scored five with a season-high seven hits in the inning. Colin Hering singled and came home on a Yensys Capellan double to start the inning. A single to center by Brian Wolfe put runners on the corners for Jimmy Allen. Allen grounded into a fielder's choice with Wolfe out at second to keep the runners on the corners. Once Allen was caught stealing for the second out, Kelvin Ramos hit a double down the right-field line to plate Capellan. Ahart delievered his third run-scoring hit of the night with a single to right. Cody Bellinger then hit a single to right. After two wild pitches scored Ahart and moved Bellinger to third, Leon hit an RBI double to right to end the scoring and put the Raptors ahead 11-4.

Raptors starter J.D. Underwood earned his third win Saturday. The righty allowed four runs on five hits in six innings, tying a season-high with seven strikeouts.

The Raptors and Mustangs continue their four-game series Sunday. John Richy takes the mound for Ogden and Jeremy Kivel will pitch for Billings. Game starts at 4:00 and can be heard on 97.5 The Zone.
