Raptors Rally Late, Steal Game 2 in Idaho Falls

Ogden Raptors News Release

Down five runs early and still trailing entering the eighth, the Raptors stormed back Wednesday night to take Game 2 from the Idaho Falls Chukars, 9-6, and secure their second straight road win.

After a Chukars five-run third, Ogden chipped away with runs in the fourth and seventh before the bats came alive late. Kenny Oyama ripped an RBI double in the eighth, and Elliot Good the rally up with a two-run shot to give Ogden its first lead of the night.

Idaho Falls tied it in the bottom half, but the Raptors weren't done yet. Chris Sargent Jr. delivered a go-ahead RBI double in the ninth, along with Carmine Lane and Kyler Stancato helping tack two more runs on the board with smart baserunning and situational hitting.

Sargent finished the night with two hits, two RBIs, and the game-winning swing. Good, Oyama, and Fontenot each had multi-hit games in a potent offensive attack.

After Eli Elliott's early exit, the bullpen was nails. Nico Saltaformaggio, Christian Ciuffetelli, Cameron Edmonson, and Nik Cardinal combined for five innings, allowing just one run and striking out eight. Edmonson earned the win, and Cardinal picked up his fifth save of the season.

Game 3's first pitch is Thursday, June 19 at 7:05 PM, as the Raptors look to stay hot and make it three straight on the road.
