Ogden Raptors News Release

Back at home at Lindquist Field for the first time in a week, the Raptors threw themselves a welcome-home party in Game 1 of their three-game set - dismantling the visiting Great Falls Voyagers in a 21-1 blowout.

Ogden's offense came out firing and never looked back. A seven-run first inning set the tone, fueled by three straight RBI singles from the heart of the order, capped off by a 422-foot grand slam from Dylan Wilkinson to make it 7-0 early. And they were just getting started.

In the second, an RBI single from Elliot Good and another multi-RBI extra-base hit from Wilkinson pushed the lead to 10-0. Then, in the third, Chris Sargent launched his fourth home run of the season - a three-run shot that extended the lead to 13-1.

A few timely at-bats in the fourth and fifth innings added to the damage, swelling the Raptors' lead to 15-1 before Kyler Stancato made his presence known with his first home run in a Raptors uniform - a no-doubt three-run shot into the Ogden sunset that made it 18-1.

Ogden tacked on a few more in the seventh, but by that point, the game was well out of reach - especially with the way the Raptors' pitching staff was rolling.

Chase Chatman was steady and efficient, tossing six innings of one-run ball while walking three and striking out five. With a double-digit lead behind him, the bullpen went to work and slammed the door with authority.

Shawn Triplett flirted with an immaculate inning, firing 10 strikes in 11 pitches and striking out the side in order. Cameron Edmonson followed with three strikeouts of his own in 16 dominant pitches. Finally, Jestin Jones closed things out with six effortless pitches to seal the most lopsided win of the Raptors' season so far.

With the win, the Raptors will look to carry the momentum with them into Game 2 tomorrow night looking to make it two straight against the Voyagers.
