Raptors Battle Late, But Fall Short in Series Finale
June 15, 2025 - Pioneer League (PL)
Ogden Raptors News Release
Sunday's Fun Day series finale was tight down the stretch, but a four-run seventh inning from the Ballers proved too much to overcome as the Raptors dropped Game 3 at Lindquist Field.
After two lopsided losses to open the series, Ogden put together a much stronger showing in the finale. Making his Pioneer League and Raptors debut, Ryan Sleeper impressed - tossing five innings of two-run ball, allowing six hits and striking out three.
The bullpen struggled to maintain the momentum, giving up five earned runs on five hits over the final four frames, while issuing three walks.
Offensively, the Raptors stayed in it thanks to a monster day from Chris Sargent, who ripped an RBI double and crushed a two-run homer to keep Ogden within reach.
However, Oakland's bats stayed unrelenting, and their seventh-inning surge was the difference in an otherwise hard-fought contest.
The Raptors now hit the road to face the red-hot Idaho Falls Chukars in a six-game series - their first meeting of the year. In need of a solid performance on the road, Ogden will return home for a six-game homestand against the Northern Colorado Owlz starting Tuesday, June 24, with Canner's Cap Giveaway Night kicking things off at Lindquist Field.
