Iowa Wolves News Release
DES MOINES, Iowa - Dalano Banton poured in a career-high 37 points for the Raptors 905 who rallied past the short-handed Iowa Wolves, 127-118, on Thursday night at Wells Fargo Arena.
On assignment from the Toronto Raptors, Banton scored 15 points in the final quarter and teamed up with two-way guard Ron Harper Jr. to score 16 of 905's final 19 points in the game. Harper Jr. finished with 22 points.
D.J. Carton had another big game for Iowa (0-1) scoring a career-best 33 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists. Matt Lewis added 23 points as six of the Wolves' seven available players scored 10 or more points. Former Iowa standout Jordan Bohannon equaled his career-best with 14 points and he pulled down a career-high six rebounds.
The game featured 20 lead changes and 10 ties with 905's largest lead at nine points while Iowa's was eight. Carton threw down a monster dunk with 5:40 left in the game to put Iowa up by three points but a nearly two-minute-long scoreless drought by the Wolves helped the 905 rally to take the lead back.
Lewis' turnaround with 2:42 to go put Iowa back in front at 114-112 but the 905 answered with seven consecutive points from Banton and Harper Jr. to seize control.
The two teams will play again on Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. CT inside Wells Fargo Arena.
