Raptors 905 (9-8), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors dropped the second of back-to-back games against the Westchester Knicks (7-11) 104-113 Monday evening. The 905 were led by Raptors' assignee Christian Koloko's 18 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. DaQaun Jefferies led the Knicks with a season-high 37 points, seven rebounds, four steals, and a block in the victory.
The 905 carried their momentum from Sunday afternoon's win into today's matchup as they opened the game on a 14-2 run. The visitors continued to push the pace forcing five turnovers and extending their lead to as many as 21 points in the first. Down 17 points, the Knicks quickly found their rhythm in the second quarter as they went on to outscore the 905 38-32, cutting the 905 lead to 11 going into the break.
The Knicks continued to build off their momentum, bringing the game within three in the opening minutes of the half. Westchester continued their run in the third, outscoring the visitors 35-22. The 905 attempted their comeback bid in the closing 12 minutes but back-to-back triples in the final 60 seconds sealed the game for the home team.
The 905 received complementary scoring from Gabe Brown who contributed 16 points, four rebounds, and one steal off the bench. The Knicks were paced by James Akinjo's 16 points, three rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.
Raptors 905 return to the court after all-star break, taking on the Windy City Bulls Feb. 22, tip-off scheduled for 8:00 pm. Westchester travels to Capital City to take on the Go-Go, this Wednesday, tip-off slated for 11:30 am.
