Raptors 905 (3-4), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors defeated the Motor City Cruise (1-6) 105-99 Thursday evening. Reggie Perry led the 905 with his second straight 30+ point game, putting up 34 points, eight rebounds, and two steals in the Motor City. The Cruise saw Devontae Cacok contribute a team-high 28 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
The 905 took control of the match early, opening the ball game on a 16-5 run. The visitors continued to hold onto their lead as they took an eight-point lead going into the second. The home side fought back in the second, erasing a 15-point deficit and outscoring the 905 30-19 in the frame.
Down three to open the half, the 905 regained control of the game holding the Cruise to 17 points as they put up 28 third-quarter points. The two teams played a nearly even final quarter; however, Motor City was unable to overcome the deficit, falling to the 905 in their franchise-first meeting in Detroit.
Michigan native Gabe Brown paced the 905 adding 20 points, seven rebounds, and two assists. The Cruise saw complementary scoring from Stanley Umude who had 26 points and five rebounds in the game.
The 905 continue their road trip in Sioux Falls as they take on newly acquired Justin Champagnie and the Skyforce Sunday, tip-off scheduled for 3:00 pm. Motor City heads out west, taking on the Ontario Clippers, Sunday at 5:00 pm.
