Santa Cruz Warriors News Release
SANTA CRUZ, CA - The Santa Cruz Warriors, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Golden State Warriors, announced today that their annual Super Bowl Squares initiative will benefit the Community Foundation Santa Cruz County Disaster Fund to support local nonprofits responding to the atmospheric river storm and flooding of January 2023.
This year will mark the fifth time the Sea Dubs have engaged their fan base with raising funds tied to the Super Bowl. Each Super Bowl square entry will be $50, with no limit on how many fans can buy. Prizes include lower-level tickets to a Golden State Warriors game, and a variety of autographed Golden State Warriors items. Fans interested in participating can contact Anna Burleson at (831) 353-8508 or via email at aburleson@warriors.com.
"We are excited to support the Community Foundation Santa Cruz County Disaster Fund through this year's Super Bowl Squares initiative," said Santa Cruz Warriors President, Chris Murphy. "Santa Cruz County is a community that continues to show up and fight for each other during tough times, and the Santa Cruz Warriors are honored to support our neighbors in need during this difficult time."
"As with past disasters, the Santa Cruz Warriors are, once again, ensuring that fans can help their neighbors receive needed relief to get through this crisis. Together, we will recover from these storms," said Community Foundation CEO Susan True. "The Disaster Fund is ready and is a trusted place for residents to help their neighbors who have been harmed by these storms. This fund will benefit those whose homes, business and lives have been upended. Contributing to this fund is one of many ways in which everyone can make a difference," True added.
The Community Foundation Santa Cruz County Disaster Fund supports residents and small businesses impacted in the January 2023 storms. Grants will go to nonprofits with deep roots in the community and strong experience serving vulnerable residents both in the immediate response and in ongoing relief and recovery efforts. Tax deductible donations, in any amount, can be made to the fund at www.cfscc.org/disaster. Contact the Community Foundation at (831) 662-2065 or cfhelp@cfscc.org for help making a donation.
