(OTTAWA, ON) Tuesday, August 5, 2008 - The Ottawa Rapidz scored twice in the bottom of the ninth to steal a 4-3 victory over the Sussex Skyhawks on Tuesday night at Rapidz Stadium. The come-from-behind win was the first for the Rapidz this year while trailing after eight innings.

Chris Brown's seventh homerun of the season gave Sussex a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning to begin the scoring.

The Rapidz collected four hits in the bottom of the fifth to take a 2-1 lead. Kyle Geiger singled to lead off the inning, advanced to second on a grounder by Pete Pirman and then scored on Jereme Milons' single. The next two batters singled before Jared Lemieux hit a sacrifice fly to score Milons.

Back-to-back one-run innings placed the Skyhawks in the driver's seat. Jorge Moreno and Matthew Weston hit consecutive doubles in the top of the sixth, and Alex Frazier added his 10th homerun to lead off the top of the seventh to put Sussex ahead in the game 3-2.

Both starters were not involved in the decision despite quality starts. Fraser Robinson worked seven innings, allowing three runs (all earned) on eight hits including two homeruns, no walks and struck out three batters. His opponent, Gary Galvez was even more effective. The righty gave up two runs (both earned) seven hits, no walks and added two strikeouts to his record in seven innings. The win goes to Ottawa's Reid Price (2-0) who was perfect in relief for Robinson. Matt Petrusek (5-2) entered the game in the ninth, blew his save opportunity when he gave up two runs on two walks and two hits.

The third game of the series is scheduled for Wednesday, August 6, at 7:05pm. Noel Baca III (2-8, 4.11 ERA) will get the start for the Rapidz, facing Justin Knoff (2-0, 0.78 ERA) for Sussex.
