
Rapidz defeat Tornadoes

(OTTAWA, ON) The Ottawa Rapidz played well in front of a crowd of 2,328 fans at Rapidz Stadium, defeating the Worcester Tornadoes 7-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Scott Grimes put the Tornadoes ahead 1-0 hitting his 21st homerun of the season to lead off the first inning.
Jared Lemieux tied the game at 1 in the bottom of the first inning, scoring on a wild pitch. The Rapidz took the lead in the bottom of the third, Dytarious Edwards reaching home on a throwing error by the right fielder. Scotty McKnight scored on Jabe Bergeron's single to make it 3-1.
The home team continued with their offensive prowess in the bottom of the fifth. Jake Daubert doubled with two men on board to make it a 5-1 game and then scored on Jereme Milons 10th homerun of the season.
Noel Baca III (3-10) earned the win for the Rapidz tossing eight innings in which he allowed one run (earned), on seven hits, two walks and struck out four batters. The loss goes to Kyle Jackson (0-1). He allowed seven runs (six earned) on six hits, four walks, and two strikeouts in five innings.
The series continue on Sunday, August 31 at 1:05pm. Mike Kusiewicz (3-8, 4.33 ERA) for the Rapidz will square off against the Tornadoes' Junior Guerrero (7-5, 5.92).
