Ottawa added to an early 3-1 lead with a four-run fifth inning and cruised past Worcester 7-1. LF Jereme Milons capped the scoring in the fifth inning with a two-run homer, his 10th of the season. Noel Baca turned in a solid pitching performance for the Rapidz as he completed eight innings of work allowing just one earned run on seven hits while striking out three. He improved his record to 3-10 with the win. Kyle Jackson took the loss for Worcester as he allowed six earned runs on six hits in five innings. Worcester grabbed a 1-0 lead when RF Scott Grimes led off the game with a home run, but that was it for the Tornadoes offense the rest of the way.

Brockton 3, New Jersey 2 (Completion of suspended game from August 29 - 14 Innings)

In the completion of the suspended game from yesterday, Brockton's Melvin Falu scored on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 14th inning to give the Rox a 3-2 win over New Jersey. The Brockton second baseman was the game's top performer offensively as he finished 4-for-6. Both starting pitchers had fine outings as New Jersey's Tom Atlee and Brockton's Santos Hernandez each completed seven innings and allowed two earned runs. Atlee fanned 10 batters, Hernandez seven. Rox reliever Keith Noe picked up the win and Jackals closer Rusty Tucker took the loss. 3B Eduardo Rios and SS Dominic Ramos each had three hits for Brockton.

Brockton 7, New Jersey 3 (Regularly scheduled game - 9 Innings)

HR: BRO- Phillip Cuadrado (9), Jud Thigpen (16); NJ- Juan Tejeda (14)
In the regularly scheduled game, Brockton earned a sweep with a 7-3 victory. The Rox grabbed control by scoring three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and put the game away with three more runs in the eighth inning. LF Jud Thigpen and DH Phillip Cuadrado each had two hits including a home run. Thigpen's long ball was his 16th of the year and Cuadrado's his ninth. Brockton starter Wayne Lundgren struck out six in 7 1/3 innings to get the win and improved to 11-3.

Quebec 8, Nashua 2

DH Pat Scalabrini homered twice to power the Quebec Capitales past the Nashua Pride 8-2. He finished 2-for-4 with four RBI. RF Mike Goss added a two-run homer and starting pitcher Orlando Trias worked 6 1/3 innings for his eighth win with Quebec. Nashua's John Tesseyman allowed seven earned runs in five innings and dropped to 0-2. Capitales CF Goef Tomlinson tripled and finished 2-for-4 and LF Alex Nunez had two hits in the game as well.

Sussex 9, Atlantic City 7

HR: SUS- Jorge Moreno (11), Matt Weston (22); ATC- Anthony Granato (13)
The Sussex Skyhawks jumped out to an early 7-0 lead and held off a late charge from Atlantic City to defeat the Surf 9-7. DH Jorge Moreno and 1B Matt Weston homered for the Skyhawks and C Yohanny Valera went 4-for-5 with four runs batted in. 2B Chris Brown and LF Alex Frazier each had three hits in the contest for Sussex. Anthony Granato led Atlantic City's attack with a 2-for-4 night including his 13th homer of the year. He finished with three RBI and two runs scored. Matt Salvato went 6 1/3 innings for Sussex and upped his mark to 10-4 with the win.
