Rangers Recall Mikolas from Round Rock

ROUND ROCK, Texas - The Texas Rangers announced Tuesday that they have recalled RHP Miles Mikolas from the Round Rock Express. He is scheduled to make his first career major league start for the Rangers Wednesday in Baltimore.

Mikolas joined the Express on April 20 after beginning the season on the disabled list. In 16 appearances with Round Rock, he has gone 5-1 with a 3.22 ERA (16 ER/44.2 IP) and 38 strikeouts. He entered the 2014 season having made just 11 career starts at the minor league level, however, he is 3-1 with a 3.58 ERA and 29 strikeouts in six Triple-A starts since joining the Express rotation on May 30. In his last outing, Mikolas scattered 10 hits over six innings, allowing one run and striking out a career-high six to come away the winning pitcher in Round Rock's 9-1 victory on Thursday at Memphis.

This will be the second stint with Texas this season for Mikolas, thought he did not appear during his first stint from May 14-17.
