
Rangers On 3-Game Winning Streak

The Kitchener Rangers continue on a three game winning streak after a 7-3 victory over the Erie Otters. Andrew Crescenzi opened up scoring for the Rangers after he directed a long-shot from Ryan Murphy past Christopher Festarini at 13:03 of the first period. Michael Catenacci increased Kitchener's lead 2-0 with a backhander at 14:39. The Otter's David Shields put Erie on the board at 16:26 to make it a one goal game.
Gabriel Landeskog scored within 50-seconds of the second period to advance the Rangers 3-1. Anthony Luciani replied for Erie after scoring on a Rangers open net at 8:51. Jason Akeson increased the lead 4-2 for Kitchener with just over a minute left in the period.
Ryan Murphy scored off a one-timer from the blueline at 8:21 of the third period to make it 5-2 Rangers. Landeskog followed up with his second goal of the game less than a minute later to put Kitchener up 6-2. Erie's Mitch Gaulton scored his second of the season around the midway mark of the period. Matt Tipoff closed scoring in the game after the puck went off his head and through the five-hole of Festarini.
The Rangers travel to Owen Sound tomorrow for a 7:30pm game against the Attack. They return home on Friday, October 8th to host the Barrie Colts. Game time is 7:30pm.
