November 16, 2014 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Kitchener Rangers News Release

Brent Pedersen and Ryan MacInnis each scored in the Kitchener Rangers' 3-2 shootout loss to the Sudbury Wolves on Sunday night.

The Wolves scored first, when Swiss import Pavel Janys jumped on a turnover in front of the Rangers' net and chipped a shot past starter Dawson Carty. Nathan Pancel earned the lone assist on the goal, Janys' fifth of the season.

Kitchener led shots on goal 10-9 after 20 minutes.

With less than 30 seconds to play in the middle frame, Sudbury extended its lead to two goals. Co-captain Nick Baptiste carried the puck over the blueline and wired a long shot past Carty for his sixth of the year. Helpers on the play were credited to Jacob Harris and Jonathan Duschesne.

The Rangers continued to lead shots on goal in the second period by an 11-8 margin.

An early third period goal put Kitchener on the board, cutting their deficit to a single goal. With the Rangers rushing into the Sudbury zone, netminder Sam Tanguay made a few quick saves, but could not control the rebound. Veteran Brent Pedersen tapped the puck past the sprawled goaltender, picking up his second goal in as many games. Gustaf Franzen picked up an assist on the Carolina Hurricanes prospect's seventh of the year.

The Rangers completed the comeback with 5:56 remaining on the clock, knotting the score at 2-2. Justin Bailey's pass from the side of the net connected with Ryan MacInnis in front, and the sophomore centre bounced a shot past Tanguay for his seventh goal of the year. The St. Louis, MO native has recorded seven points in his last four outings. Brandon Robinson also picked up an assist on the play, which sent to contest into overtime.

Kitchener out-shot the Wolves 41-28 in regulation.

The teams skated through a scoreless overtime period, with Sudbury out-shooting the Rangers 8-7.

Bailey and Pedersen each potted goals in the shootout, but Brody Milne potted the game winner for the Wolves in the seventh round.

With the shootout loss the Rangers (11-3-2-4) pick up a point for the 15th straight game. Kitchener has not lost in regulation since October 10.
