
Rangers Double Up Whalers 6-3

Tyler Randell scored two goals including the game-winner to lead the Kitchener Rangers to a 6-3 win over the Plymouth Whalers.
Stefan Noesen came from behind the Rangers net to score his 25th goal of the season at the 14:09 mark of the first period and give Plymouth a 1-0 lead. This was the lone goal of the period.
Mitchell Heard snapped a shot from the slot past Rangers netminder Mike Morrison at 3:24 of the second to make it 2-0 Whalers. Tobias Rieder brought the Rangers within one-goal of the Whalers after he buried a rebound at the 7:21 mark. Matt Tipoff scored off a feed from Jerry D'Amigo on a Kitchener power play at 13:28 to tie the game at 2-2. James Livingston restored the Whalers lead with a Plymouth power play marker at 16:12.
Kitchener's Zach Lorentz netted a wrist shot early in the third period to tie the game at 3-3. 42-seconds later, Randell tipped in a Jamie Doornbosch shot to put the Rangers up 4-3. D'Amigo scored the insurance goal for Kitchener, his first Ontario Hockey League goal at the 16:29 mark. Randell scored his second of the evening on a Whalers empty net to close the game 6-3 Rangers.
The Rangers return to home ice on Sunday, February 6th to host the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Game time is 2:00 pm. Tickets may be purchased by phone at 519-578-1570 or 1-800-265-8977, via the internet at www.theaud.ca, in person at the Aud Box Office or Centre in the Square Box Office.
