Mississauga St. Michael's Majors News Release
Mississauga, ON - The jerseys that are to be worn in next week's Paint the Rink Pink IV game, presented by your local State Farm Agents, have now arrived. Several images can be viewed by clicking the attachments or a full gallery can be seen at stmichaelsmajors.com.
This year's jersey combines the old and the new. The team has went back to a base colour of navy with pink trim, much like in the first year of Paint the Rink Pink. The new comes with an altered version of the Majors new third jersey, with the crest coloured in pink. The shirt also features the pink breast cancer ribbon on the back of the jersey and the shoulders.
The puck drops on Paint the Rink Pink next Friday, February 11th when the Majors take on the Plymouth Whalers. The actual tinting of the ice to make it pink will be done the morning of Thursday, February 10th. As in past years, Mayor Hazel McCallion will be on hand for the ceremonial puck drop. Jerseys will be auctioned off after the game and details of this year's jersey auction will be released next week. All net proceeds from the auction will be donated to the CBCF.
Thanks to the generous support of fans and sponsors, the first three Paint the Rink Pink events combined to raise over $25,000. Fans who choose not to participate in the auction will still be contributing to the cause as a portion of every ticket sold will be donated to the CBCF and there will be other activities throughout the game to raise funds.
