January 29, 2016 - American Hockey League (AHL)
San Antonio Rampage News Release

SAN ANTONIO - Led by a two-goal effort from Dennis Everberg, the San Antonio Rampage (19-19-7-0) topped the San Jose Barracuda (18-14-5-3) 2-1 in front of 6,661 at the AT&T Center on Friday night. Reid Petryk added two assists, and Roman Will, making his first start since making his NHL debut for the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday, finished with 29 saves on 30 shots.

Ryan Carpenter gave the Barracuda an early 1-0 lead, scoring the game's opening goal at 7:59, but the Rampage got two straight markers from Everberg to take a 2-1 lead into the first intermission.

Despite outshooting San Jose 15-9 in the middle stanza, Troy Grosenick stood tall, turning away each Rampage shot, and the Silver and Black still held a one-goal lead at the break.

Neither team found the back of the net in the final frame, and Roman Will stopped each of the 11 shots he faced as the Barracuda attempted to score the equalizer.

San Antonio outshot San Jose 37-30 and held the Barracuda scoreless on five opportunities with the man advantage.

Notes Tonight's contest marks the second multiple-goal game for Everberg, who now has 13 goals on the season. With the secondary assist on Everberg's second goal, Mikko Rantanen extended his point streak to nine games, which is the longest point streak of the season for the Rampage.

Lineup Notes Mikko Rantanen, Dennis Everberg and Reid Petryk made up the Rampage's top line, with Rantanen playing the center position for the first time this season. Marc-Andre Cliché centered Colin Smith and Garrett Thompson on the second line. Roman Will started in net.

Up Next The Rampage host the San Jose Barracuda on Saturday at 7 p.m., which will be Blockhead Night at the AT&T Center. The first 2,000 fans will receive a Rampage-themed blockhead. Season tickets for the 2016-17 campaign are on sale now. For more information, call a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or visit sarampage.com.
