San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO (April 10, 2012) - The San Antonio Rampage received goals from four different players en route to a 4-1 victory over the Milwaukee Admirals on Tuesday night at the AT&T Center.
The win vaulted San Antonio into fifth place in the Western Conference standings with their 82nd and 83rd points of the season.
The Rampage went ahead 1-0 with a goal from Bracken Kearns at the 15:56 mark of the opening period. He took a pass from Bill Thomas and fired a wrister over the glove of Admirals backstop Atte Engren to register his career-high 21st marker of the season.
San Antonio added to their lead just 58 seconds later when Colby Robak finished off a one-timer at the front of the Admirals net from Jon Matsumoto. Robak's ninth goal of the year made the count 2-0 in favor of the Rampage. Milwaukee cut their deficit to 2-1 with a power-play tally 7:17 into the second. Chris Mueller was credited with his 31st goal of 2011-12 after his centering pass caromed off of a San Antonio defender and into the net.
Bill Thomas potted his 26th marker of the season 1:36 following the Mueller score to restore the San Antonio lead to two at 3-1. He found a loose puck in the crease and swept it in behind Engren for the goal.
Matsumoto extended the Rampage advantage to 4-1 with a five-on-three power-play goal at 4:52 of the third frame. He took a pass from Michal Repik at the inner rim of the right circle and ripped a shot over Engren's left shoulder for his 22nd goal of the season.
San Antonio goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 26 saves on 27 Admirals shots for his 15th win of the season. Engren turned aside 21 of the 25 Rampage attempts he faced in the Milwaukee loss.
The Rampage (39-29-3-2) resume play on Friday when they host a 7 p.m. (CST) contest against the Texas Stars at the AT&T Center.
