Milwaukee Admirals News Release
San Antonio, TX--Goalie Jacob Markstrom stopped 26 shots to lead the San Antonio Rampage to a 4-1 win over the Milwaukee Admirals Tuesday night in San Antonio.
The loss dropped Milwaukee from 5th place to 6th place in the Western Conference. It also snapped Milwaukee's four-game winning streak and five-game points streak. Milwaukee finished the regular season with a 3-1-0-0 record against the Rampage.
Former Admirals forward Bracken Kearns scored the first goal of the game at 15:56 of the first period as he converted a Bill Thomas pass from behind Milwaukee goalie Atte Engren's net for his 21st goal of the season.
Just 58 seconds later, with a delayed penalty coming against Milwaukee's Mathieu Aubin, defenseman Colby Robak scored his ninth goal of the year by slapping in a pass from behind the Admirals net from Jon Matsumoto.
Admirals leading scorer Chris Mueller finally got Milwaukee on the board with a power play goal at 7:17 of the second period. Mueller received a pass on the left post from Brodie Dupont. He then slid a pass into the slot for Taylor Beck, but the puck bounced off Rampage defenseman Nolan Yonkman and into the net. The goal was Mueller's 31st of the season and 11th on the power play. Dupont and Teemu Laakso recorded the assists.
San Antonio reclaimed the two-goal lead just 96 seconds later when Bill Thomas slapped his 26th goal of the season past Engren after a scramble in front of Milwaukee's goalie.
Matsumoto gave the Rampage a three-goal lead when he scored a 5-on-3 power play goal from the bottom of the right circle at 4:52 of the third period.
Milwaukee continues its seven-game road trip with a visit to Rockford Friday. Fans are invited to watch the game at a special, free road viewing party at Major Goolsby's on the corner of 4th Street and Kilbourn Ave. The game begins at 7:00 pm, but fans can enjoy food, drinks and good company well before the puck drops. In addition to exciting hockey action, there will also be a fun competition for a chance to win an Admirals game-worn jersey!
The next, and final, Admirals home game of the season is Sunday, Apr 15 as the Charlotte Checkers visit the Bradley Center at 3pm. It's Fan Appreciation Day. Fans can order tickets by calling Ticketmaster at (800)745-3000 or by logging on to the Admirals website at www.milwaukeeadmirals.com. Groups of ten or more get $2 off every ticket.
