
Rampage receive nine players from Coyotes

SAN ANTONIO (September 19, 2005) - The San Antonio Rampage announced today that the Phoenix Coyotes have sent nine players to their American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate for the 2005-06 training camp which begins Tues., Sept. 27.
Among the nine players sent include forwards Mike Bishai, Randall Gelech, Sheldon Keefe, and Martin Sonnenberg.
Bishai has played in 148 career AHL games recording 28-51-79 after finishing last season with 10-24-34 totals in 70 games with the Edmonton Road Runners. In 2001-02, Bashai led the Western Michigan Broncos (CCHA) in scoring and assists registering 10-27-37 in 34 games after leading the CCHA in assists (45) and points (68) - which were 2nd in both categories in entire NCAA - the previous season.
In his first professional season, Gelech played in 76 games collecting 27 points and finished second on the club in goals scored (15) and power-play goals (5). During the 2003-04 season, the 6-foot-3, 220-pound right wing led Kelowna to the CHL's Memorial Cup championship and was selected to the Memorial Cup All-Tournament Team.
Keefe, 25, was Tampa Bay Lightning's first choice (2nd round, 47th overall) in the 1999 Entry Draft and is a veteran of 125 NHL contests. The right wing led the Barrie Colts to the 2000 Memorial Cup Championship and led the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) in points and assists scoring 48-73-121 in 66 games during the 1999-2000 season.
Signed as a free agent on Sept. 2, Sonnenberg has appeared in 417 career AHL games and has tallied 114-135-249 points after spending 65 games last season with the Utah Grizzlies recording 13-13-26. During the 2003-04 season, the 6-foot, 197-pound left wing led Lowell (AHL) with 20 goals and finished second in points with 42 and finished the year on Calgary's roster throughout the playoffs as the Flames went to Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Of his 63 career NHL games, Sonnenberg has spent 58 of those with the Pittsburgh Penguins and also helped the Penguins AHL affiliate, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, reach the Calder Cup Finals playing in all 21 playoff games in the 2001 Calder Cup Playoffs.

In addition, goaltender Dov Grumet-Morris was assigned to the Rampage's training camp last week.
