WILKES-BARRE, PA - Mario Lemieux and Sidney Crosby are both scheduled to be in uniform when the Pittsburgh Penguins take on the Boston Bruins this Wednesday night, Sept. 21, at the Wachovia Arena at Casey Plaza. Game time is 7:05pm, and tickets for the game are still available.
Crosby, the first overall pick in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft, will be making his Penguins debut in the game. He also captured a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2005 World Junior Championships, recording nine points (6+3) in six games. In two seasons with Rimouski, Crosby recorded 303 points (120+183) in 121 games.
Lemieux, already a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame, ranks seventh on the National Hockey League's all-time scoring list with 1,701 points and eighth with 683 goals. A six-time Art Ross Trophy winner as the league's top scorer, Lemieux has also been named the recipient the Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player three times (1988, 1993, 1996), and the winner of the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP twice (1991, 1992). The all-time leading scorer in Pittsburgh Penguins' history will be seeing his first game action since capturing a gold medal with Team Canada at the 2004 World Cup of Hockey on Sept. 14, 2004.
