
Rivermen set 2005-06 training camp schedule

Peoria, IL (September 19, 2005) - The Peoria Rivermen, proud new primary affiliate of the St. Louis Blues, today announced the schedule for the team's 2005-06 training camp. The training camp will last nine days, opening on Thursday, September 22, and concluding on Friday, September 30, with Peoria's final preseason game versus the Iowa Stars at 7:00 p.m. at Carver Arena.
All training camp activities except for the four Rivermen preseason games will be open to the media and public at no charge. Members of the media and fans should enter Carver Arena through the main entrance in the box office lobby.

The Rivermen will play in four preseason games during their 2005 training camp. In the first two contests, the Rivermen will take on the Chicago Wolves, first at Carver Arena on Saturday, September 24, and then in Chicago on Monday, September 26. Peoria will go up against the Iowa Stars in the team's other two preseason games on Tuesday, September 27, in Iowa and on Friday, September 30, at Carver Arena. All Rivermen preseason games will begin at 7:00 p.m., and the game at Iowa on Tuesday, September 27, will be broadcast live on HOPE 98.5 (WPIA-FM).
The Rivermen are a proud new member of the AHL. Founded in 1936, the AHL now serves as the primary development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams and will celebrate its 70th anniversary season in 2005-06.
