San Antonio Rampage News Release
Tonight's game against the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights (5-8-0-3; 13 pts) marks the first game of a four-game road trip for the San Antonio Rampage (4-10-0-1; 9 pts) and their first of three games in consecutive nights ...The Rampage enter the series with a 4-10-0-1 record on a seven game winless streak ... The Phoenix Coyotes' AHL affiliate will round out the month of November in an all West Division showdown playing Iowa and Peoria on the road then finishing up with Milwaukee to begin a home-and-home series.
Against Omaha: San Antonio faces the Calgary Flames affiliate for the second time this season with both games played at Omaha Civic Auditorium ... The Rampage are 0-1-0-0 against Omaha, who gave the Rampage their first shutout of the season ... The two teams will meet eight more times (10 total) throughout the season ... San Antonio will cap their regular season with a back-to-back series against Omaha at the SBC Center.
COYOTES RECALL LUNDMARK; REASSIGN LEHOUX AND GAINEY:
On Monday, the Coyotes recalled center Jamie Lundmark from San Antonio (AHL) and reassigned center Yanick Lehoux (conditioning) and left wing Steve Gainey to club. Lundmark played in 4 games with San Antonio after agreeing to a voluntary assignment for conditioning purposes on Nov. 2 and collected 1-2-3 and 2 PIM. The 24-year-old forward has also played in 5 NHL games this season with the Coyotes and New York Rangers, collecting 1 goal and 6 PIM. The Coyotes acquired Lundmark on Oct. 18 from the Rangers in exchange for center Jeff Taffe.
Lehoux, who joined the Rampage for a conditioning stint, has played in 3 games (1-0-1, 2 PIM) with the Coyotes since being claimed on waivers from Los Angeles on Nov. 5. Gainey played in 5 games with the Coyotes after being recalled from San Antonio on Nov. 4 - the same day that he signed an NHL contract with the Coyotes.
LEHOUX MAKES STRIKING DEBUT:
While on his first shift in the league, Yanick Lehoux scored just 65 seconds into his NHL debut - a 4-2 win by the Coyotes over the Minnesota Wild at Excel Energy Center on Nov. 8. It was the fastest goal from the start of a game by a player making his NHL debut since the Sabres' Alexander Mogilny scored 20 seconds into his debut on Oct. 5, 1989. It was the fastest goal ever by a Coyotes/Jets' player making his NHL debut. Lehoux played four seasons with AHL's Manchester Monarchs (LA Kings affiliate), compiling 53-80-133 totals in 182 games. He was selected to play in the 2005 AHL All-Star Classic but didn't due to season-ending knee injury. Tonight's game will be his first AHL game since Jan. 14, 2005.
GAIN(EY)-ING GROUND:
Prior to being called-up by Phoenix, left wing Steve Gainey has been held scoreless in only three of the 12 games played this season. Gainey has scored 10 points in his last 10 games played (4 pts in last 5 GP) where he his most recent point streak he scored 3-2-5 in five games (Oct. 16-28) ... he ranked T-14th among top AHL scorers at time of recall.
