Phantoms make goaltender switch

PHILADELPHIA - It was announced today that the Philadelphia Flyers have reassigned goaltender Martin Houle to the Philadelphia Phantoms from the Trenton Titans of the ECHL, and have reassigned goaltender Rejean Beauchemin to the Titans.

Houle posted a 2.10 GAA and a .935 save percentage to go along with a 4-3 record in seven starts this season for Trenton. He registered his first pro win in a 3-2 shootout triumph over Johnstown on November 4, and notched his first professional shutout on November 9 in a 3-0 blanking of Reading. A native of Montreal, Houle spent the past four seasons with Cape Breton of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), where he was named the league> '> s Defensive Player of the Year in 2004-05 and the Goalie of the Year in 2003-04.

Beauchemin, 20, started his professional career with the Phantoms this season after completing his junior career with Prince Albert of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In eight games this year, Beauchemin has a 2-4-1 record, a 2.79 GAA and a .915 save percentage.

The Phantoms return to action at the Wachovia Spectrum this Friday night to host rival Hershey at 7:05 pm. After traveling to Hershey to complete a home-and-home series on Saturday, Philadelphia returns to the Spectrum on Sunday to host the Norfolk Admirals at 5:05 pm.
