TARGET PRACTICE: San Antonio has been outshot in 29 of their last 37 games (1237-958). In those 37 games, San Antonio has given up at least 40 shots five times, while allowing 40+ shots seven times this season. In 57 games to date, the Rampage have outshot their opposition only 14 times and allow an average of 33.07 shots per game (1885 total).
BLUELINE POWER: Defenseman Michel Periard is one of the top rookie leaders in power-play points. The freshman paces all AHL rookies in assists (14) and co-leads in PP points (18).
LIKE FATHER LIKE SON: While the Rampage are playing against the Wolves this afternoon in Chicago, their parent club, the Florida Panthers will face off against the Blackhawks this afternoon in the Windy City at 3:00 p.m. (EST) today at the United Center.
THE WEST WING: San Antonio has played 38 games against a team in the West Division this season. The Rampage, who are 13-20-5-0 against West Division opponents this season, will play 60 games against the West Division this year. In total, San Antonio will face a North Division team 12 times (4-7-0-0), while playing teams from the Atlantic (2-1-1-0) and East (2-2-0-0) Divisions on four occasions.
CAREER YEARS: The 2003-04 season has seen two Rampage players establish new single-season professional career highs. Right wing Denis Shvidki eclipsed his point high (was 26 pts.) and left wing Josh Olson overshadowed his goal high (was 10).
ROAD WARRIORS: Having started on Wed., Feb. 4, the Rampage play 14 of the month's 15 games on the road, when the San Antonio Livestock Exhibition and Rodeo takes over the SBC Center. In their longest road stretch (12 games, Feb. 4-25), the Rampage went 4-8-0-0...Prior to the Feb. 16 game at Syracuse, the Rampage had the least amount of road games to date with 22.
THREE-N-THREE: Tonight's game against Chicago will conclude the seventh set of playing three games in three nights. So far, the Rampage have tallied a 6-11-1-0 record after six sets of playing three games in as many nights. San Antonio will play a total of 10 sets of three-games in three-night sessions this year.
LEADER OF THE PACK: Netminder Travis Scott leads all AHL netminders in saves with 1356. Scott also ranks third in minutes played (2681). In fact, Scott has notched his 10th win in only 15 games playedâseven fewer than former Rampage netminder Chris Mason (1/8/03).
A VIEW TO A PENALTY KILL: San Antonio's penalty killing unit has been special as of late, as the team is 40 for 50 (80.0%) in their last 13 games.
SIX-SHOOTERS: San Antonio's sextet of Eric Beaudoin (20g, 22a), Mike Green (12g, 23a), Denis Shvidki (13g, 27a), Lee Goren (18g, 17a), Michel Periard (5g, 19a) and Josh Olson (18g, 9a) currently accounts for 203 pointsâ54.0% of the team's overall total of 376.
