
Bulldogs earn tie against Crunch

HAMILTON, ON â The Hamilton Bulldogs earned a 3-3 tie versus the Syracuse Crunch in front of 6,711 fans at Copps Coliseum on Saturday night. The Bulldogs record now stands at 30 wins, 18 losses, 9 ties and 4 overtime losses.
The Bulldogs took a 2-0 lead in the first period with goals from Tomas Plekanec and Jozef Balej. Captain Benoit Gratton picked up his 100th career Bulldogs point with an assist on Balej's goal.
However, the Crunch would score three second period goals to take a 3-2 lead. Scoring for Syracuse were Derrick Walser (2) and Paul Traynor.
Hamilton tied the game 3-3 in the third period when forward Marcel Hossa scored his tenth goal of the season at 6:18 mark.
Alexander Perezhogin had a strong game for the Bulldogs as he earned a pair of assists. In goal, Olivier Michaud stopped 30 of 33 shots for the Bulldogs. Karl Goehring preserved the tie for the Crunch by making 34 saves on the night.On the power play, Syracuse scored twice on nine opportunities. The Bulldogs did not score on their five chances on the power play.
Saturday's crowd of 6,711 marked the eighth straight Bulldogs home game with attendance greater than 5,000.
The Bulldogs winless streak now sits at six games (0-3-2-1).
