San Antonio Rampage News Release

CLEVELAND, OHIO - The San Antonio Rampage (6-10-0-3) recorded a season-high four goals in the first period and never looked back en route to a 6-2 victory over the Lake Erie Monsters (10-8-1-1) at Quicken Loans Arena on Friday night. The win marked the second-straight road victory for the Rampage in the midst of a five-game road trip against North division foes.

Rampage rookie Jared Gomes tallied two goals, Greg Rallo recorded a goal and an assist and David Pacan chipped in a pair of helpers as the Rampage netted a season-high six goals. Goaltender Jacob Markstrom earned First Star honors by stopping 37 shots in his second-straight victory between the pipes.

The Rampage recorded a season-high 17 shots in the first period and were rewarded for their efforts with four goals in the opening frame. Jean-Francois Jacques tipped in a point shot from defenseman Tyson Strachan to get things started for San Antonio at 5:36 of the first period while on the power play.

Gomes tallied his third goal of the season at 8:23 to give the Rampage a 2-0 lead. Pacan collected an assist on the goal, which marked his first AHL point in only his second game since being recalled on loan from the ECHL's Cincinnati Cyclones on Tuesday.

Eric Selleck made it 3-0 when he crashed the net and found a rebound at 13:09. Rallo capped off the four-goal outburst with his second goal in as many games at 15:28 of the first period to give the Rampage a 4-0 lead at the first intermission.

The Monsters outshot the Rampage, 12-7, in the second period, but only lit the lamp once. Geoff Walker recorded the lone goal of the frame for the Monsters, as the Rampage carried a 4-1 lead entering the final 20 minutes of action.

Jonathan Hazen tallied his first goal of the year for the Rampage, just two games after being recalled from loan from Cincinnati. Rallo picked up his second point of the night with a helper on the goal.

Former Rampage defenseman Sean Sullivan tallied his first goal of the year for Lake Erie at 15:13, but San Antonio closed the door the rest of the way to snap a five game losing streak to the Monsters dating back to the 2010-11 season.

San Antonio was outshot 39-34 on the night, but the Rampage held their opponent off the scoresheet on the power play for the second straight game, as Lake Erie went 0-for-3 with the man advantage. Jacques cashed in on the Rampage's only power-play opportunity of the night.

The Rampage and Monsters will meet again tomorrow (Saturday) at 12 p.m. in the third of five games away from the AT&T Center for the Silver and Black. San Antonio will then travel to Abbotsford for a two-game set (Dec. 4-5) against the Heat. The Rampage return home on Saturday, Dec. 8 on Salute to the Badges Night to kick off a two-game set with the Oklahoma City Barons at 7:00 p.m.

Individual, and season, tickets start at $10 and can be purchased at the AT&T Center Southeast Box Office, by calling a Rampage representative at 210-444-5554 or online at sarampage.com.
