Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins News Release
WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - It was announced today that the Pittsburgh Penguins have assigned forwards Dominik Uher and Keven Veilleux from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton to the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL)
Uher appeared in two games for Wheeling before being assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Oct. 20. The 20-year old has posted two assists and 15 penalty minutes in 12 games for the Penguins.
A fifth-round draft pick (144th overall) of Pittsburgh in 2011, Uher played three seasons with the Spokane Chiefs of the Western Hockey League. The Czech Republic-native totaled 144 points (58g-86a) in 181 games for the Chiefs.
Veilleux posted a goal and an assist with the Nailers over three contests this season. It was the first game action for the 23-year old since May 4, 2011 after an injury suffered during the preseason last September cost him the entire 2011-12 season. Veilleux has skated in four games with the Penguins, recording seven penalty minutes
Veilleux, a second-round draft pick (51st overall) of Pittsburgh in 2007, recorded 12 goals, 24 assists and 122 penalty minutes over 66 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2010-11.
The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins host the Syracuse Crunch tonight at 7:05 PM at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza.
Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins Holiday Hat Trick and Stocking Stuffer ticket packages are available now by contacting the Penguins directly at 570-208-7367.
