Cleveland-- Nolan Schaefer stopped all 28 shots to post his second shutout of the season as the Cleveland Barons handed the San Antonio Rampage a 3-0 loss at Quicken Loans Arena Tuesday night. It was the Rampage's sixth shutout of the season.
Cleveland center Josh Hennessy scored a power-play goal at 3:28 in the opening period before right wing Steve Bernier put another power-play goal past Rampage goaltender David LeNeveu seven minutes later.
The Rampage battled back in the second outshooting Cleveland 11-7. Both teams were scoreless in the second period with 43 penalty minutes.
Bernier registered his second goal of the night with an empty net with less than two minutes left in regulation to assure the San Jose Sharks AHL affiliate the win.
The Rampage (11-20-0-1) will face the Barons again Thursday night at the Quicken Loans Arena at 6:05 p.m. CT.
