NORFOLK, VA - Last Wednesday, the Admirals closed out their road trip with an 8-6 victory over Binghamton in a record-setting night. Norfolk and Binghamton combined for nine tallies and 42 shots in the second period. Seven different Admirals lit the lamp, with Milan Bartovic scoring twice, including a goal on a penalty shot.
The Ads return home to face division rivals Philadelphia on Wednesday and Hershey on Friday before traveling to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Saturday for their final contest of 2005.
STANDINGS At 14-11-2-2 (32 pts), Norfolk is currently third in the East. The division is led by Wilkes-Barre/Scranton (25-3-2-1, 53 pts) followed by Hershey in second (20-7-2-4, 46 pts). Philadelphia (13-16-0-3, 29 pts), Bridgeport (12-18-2-1, 27 pts) and Binghamton (11-16-2-2, 26 pts) trail the Admirals.

TEAM NOTEBOOK - Norfolk has picked up at least one point in the standings in all but one of its eight games in December, and nine of its last 10 games (7-1-1-1 since 11/26 at Hershey). - The Admirals set or tied numerous franchise records in their 8-6 win at Binghamton, including: New record: Most goals by both teams - 14; Most shots taken - 52; Most shots taken by both teams - 88 Tied record: Most goals scored - 8; Most goals in one period - 5; Most goals by both teams in one period - 9 - Norfolk's 8 goals against Binghamton marked the first time the Ads notched 8 goals in one game since an 8-0 win over Syracuse on January 9, 2001. - Milan Bartovic's goal on a penalty shot at Binghamton was the team's first since Pavel Vorobiev converted on a penalty shot on April 6, 2005 vs. Philadelphia. - Martin St. Pierre has points in seven straight contests (4g, 6a) and an assist in five straight games. - James Wisniewski has tied a franchise mark with assists in six consecutive games (6a since 12/7 vs. ALB). - Mark Cullen had back-to-back three-point performances the last two games (3g at Bridgeport on 12/18, 3a at Binghamton on 12/21). He now has 13 points (5g, 8a) in his last eight games (since 12/2 vs. Wilkes-Barre). - Quintin Laing has 11 points (3g, 8a) over the last 11 games (since 11/25 vs. Hershey). - Ajay Baines scored his first goal since October 8th at Binghamton on December 21st, ending a span of 15 games without a goal.
