San Antonio Rampage News Release
SAN ANTONIO - The San Antonio Rampage (33-19-5-1) won their first game on home ice following the Rodeo Road Trip, beating the Iowa Wild 4-1 in front of 10,565 on Military Appreciation Night, presented by Champion AC.
Michael Houser made 24-of-25 saves and John McFarland tallied two goals in the win.
After two scoreless periods, the teams combined for five goals in the third stanza. Brett Olson broke the scoring silence when he punched in a rebound off Shane O'Brien's blast from long range, and Garrett Wilson tipped in Mackenzie Weegar's wrister from the right circle to give the Rampage a power-play goal and a 2-0 lead at the 11:07 mark of the final frame. McFarland tallied his second goal in as many games to extend San Antonio's lead to three with less than five minutes left. The Wild's Kurtis Gabriel got Iowa on the board at 16:36 to end Michael Houser's shutout bid. McFarland picked up his second of the game with an empty-net goal to seal a 4-1 win for San Antonio.
The Rampage finished 1-for-3 on the power play while holding the Wild scoreless on two opportunities with the man advantage.
