
Ramirez and Scott Added to All-Star Roster

Portland, Maine- The Eastern League, in conjunction with the Altoona Curve, has announced that Sea Dogs relievers Noe Ramirez and Robby Scott have been added to the 2014 Eastern League Eastern Division All-Star roster.
Ramirez and Scott take the rosters spots of Sea Dogs' starters Henry Owens and Brian Johnson who are unavailable to pitch in the mid-summer classic. Ramirez and Scott join Sea Dogs teammates Sean Coyle, Derrik Gibson, and Blake Swihart on the roster. The All-Star Game will be played on Wednesday, July 16th at Peoples Natural Gas Field in Altoona, Pennsylvania; home of the Altoona Curve.
The All-Star Game will feature the Eastern Division All-Stars against the Western Division All-Stars. Each team will consist of 24 players. The All-Star teams were selected through fan voting along with selections from media personnel, club field personnel, and Eastern League administrators. Each Eastern League team has at least three players, including at least one pitcher and one position player. One position player and one pitcher from each team are selected through fan voting. Blake Swihart and Henry Owens were the fan selections for the Sea Dogs.
Noe Ramirez is 1-0 with a 1.67 ERA (8 ER/43.0 IP) and nine saves in 25 appearances this season. Amongst Eastern League relievers the righty ranks second in fewest base runners/ 9 IP ratio (9.00), fourth in lowest BB-IBB/ 9 IP ratio (1.88) and fifth in opponents batting average (.208). The 24 year-old is nine for nine in save opportunities this season and has held opponents scoreless in 20 of 25 outings. The Los Angeles, California native was selected by the Red Sox in the fourth round of the June 2011 draft.
Robby Scott has made 19 appearances (1 start) for the Sea Dogs this season notching a 6-2 record with a 1.34 ERA (6 ER/ 40.1 IP) and a save. The lefty ranks fourth among Eastern League relievers in fewest base runners allowed per nine innings ratio (10.16). The 24 year-old opened the season by firing 14.1 scoreless innings. In five appearances in May, Scott produced a 4-0 record with a 0.00 ERA (0 ER/ 10.1 IP). The Miami, Florida native was signed by the Red Sox as a non-drafted free agent on August 9, 2011.
