Rally Cats Fall Short
August 19, 2007 - International League (IL1)
Ottawa Lynx News Release
Buffalo drew first blood with two runs in the top of the second inning before the Lynx replied with one of their own in the bottom of the frame.
Jason Jaramillo led off with a walk, scoring on an RBI double by Matt Padgett. Buffalo re-established their two-run lead with a run in the top of the fifth before the Lynx responded with another run in the bottom of the eighth. Gary Burnham led off with a single, moving to second on a single by Jason Jaramillo.
After Jim Rushford sacrificed Burnham and Jaramillo to third and second, respectively, Dusty Wathan's groundout cashed Burnham to bring the Lynx to within one. Down one run, Ottawa had men on first and second when Brennan King's sure single was deflected by Buffalo pitcher Mike Koplove, right into the hands of shortstop Mike Rouse to start a game-ending double play, handing the Lynx the loss.
