Rainout Game Rescheduled as Part of Day-Night Doubleheader on Saturday, July 30th

Wisconsin Rapids, WI-June 24, 2011. A steady, early evening, shower forced the postponement of the scheduled contest between the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters and Wisconsin Woodchucks on Wednesday, June 22nd. The game has now been rescheduled as part of a day-night doubleheader on Saturday, July 30th.

Two, separate, 9-inning contests will be played at Witter Field, with the first commencing at 12:05 p.m. for Solarus Day. Gates to game one will open at 11:05 a.m. and the stadium will be cleared out following the completion of the first contest. Gates to the regularly scheduled game will open at 5:05 with the first pitch slated for 6:05 for McCain Foods Night. All fans in attendance for the nightcap will also receive a Garden Gnome, courtesy of Schoep's Ice Cream. Tickets can be purchased separately to both events.

All ticket holders for the postponed game, dated June 22, will be able to exchange their ticket for any other game during the 2011 regular season. Fans can stop by the ticket office at Witter Field, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to switch out their tickets for another game of their choice.

After a road trip to Battle Creek over the weekend the Rafters return home Monday June 27 and Tuesday June 28 for two against the Waterloo Bucks.Monday is Summertime St. Patty's Day at Witter Field, featuring green uniforms and of course green beer. The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are members of the 16-team summer collegiate Northwoods League. The Rafters will play a 70 game schedule with 35 home games in 2011. The 2011 Marshfield Clinic Northwoods League All-Star Game will be held in Wisconsin Rapids.The All-Star festivities will begin on Sunday, July 17th with the Marshfield Clinic Home Run Health Fest beginning at 2pm. On Monday, July 18th the Northwoods League North Division All-Stars will take on the All-Stars from the South Division in the League's 17th Annual All-Star contest beginning at 7:05pm.
