Rainiers Walk off with another Win over OKC

TACOMA, Wash. -- Nick Franklin singled in extra innings to seal a 4-3 walk-off win for the Tacoma Rainiers over the Oklahoma City RedHawks in front of a crowd of 6,254 fans at Cheney Stadium on Sunday.
With the score tied at three, Franklin drove in Ty Kelly from third base with a two-out single to right field in the bottom of the tenth inning. The victory marked the third walk-off win for the Rainiers in the team's last six games and stands as the third extra-innings contest played by the club in their last four outings.
Tacoma owned a deficit as large as 3-0 before posting a three-run rally over the third and fourth innings. An RBI triple hit by Michael Saunders and a sacrifice fly hit by Justin Smoak brought the Rainiers within a run in the third. Gabriel Noriega plated the tying run with a one-out double in the fourth.
The Rainiers combined to collect nine hits in the contest. Corey Hart, in the second game of his Major League rehab assignment with Tacoma, went 2-for-4 with a pair of singles. The infielder Noriega turned in the team's other multi-hit outing after going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Relievers Lucas Luetge and Logan Kensing combined to strike out three batters in 4.0 shutout innings of work out of the bullpen. Luetge improved to 3-0 with the Rainiers this season after tossing 2.0 perfect frames beginning in the ninth. Starter Jordan Pries surrendered three runs on six hits, walked two and struck out four in 6.0 innings.
The Rainiers (35-41) look to capture a series win in the third game of a four-game set with Oklahoma City (42-36) tomorrow, June 23. Left-hander James Gillheeney (3-6, 5.36) is slated to start for Tacoma against RedHawks right-hander Asher Wojciechowski (0-0, 4.91). First pitch is scheduled for 6:05 p.m.
