Salt Lake Bees News Release

Caleb Clay (1-0) tossed 5.2 innings of one-run ball to clinch the victory for the Bees over the Nashville sounds 3-1. Clay became the 35th pitcher to take the mound for Salt Lake this year and gave up just three hits in his Salt Lake debut with his only earned run scoring off a solo homer from Caleb Gindi in the second.

"Overall, I didn't think my fast ball was that impressive today, but my change up was good. I kind of used that to equalize the at bats," said Clay.

The Bees retaliated with a run in the third and brought two across the plate in the fifth to take the lead. Brandon Sisk came in to pitch a scoreless 1.1 innings and Jeremy Berg added a hitless inning of work before the Bees extended their lead to three with a solo shot from Zach Borenstein in the eighth. Yoslan Hererra closed out the game, allowing two hits and no earned runs for his second save on the season. Tommy Field ended the day 2-for-3 with a walk and Borenstein was 3-for-four with an RBI.

The Bees continue with game three of the series against Nashville tomorrow at Smith's Ballpark at 7:05 p.m. For more information or tickets visit slbees.com or the Smith's Ballpark box office.
