TACOMA, Wash. - The Tacoma Rainiers (6-6) rallied for a six-run eighth inning to topple the Albuquerque Isotopes (6-7) by a final score of 8-2 on Tuesday night at Cheney Stadium.
Rehabbing starting pitcher Erasmo Ramirez worked 5.2 innings and allowed just two runs (one earned) on four hits. He logged six strikeouts to just one walk while throwing 76 pitches (48 strikes).
Right fielder Cameron Perkins continued his hot streak at the plate, finishing the game 3-for-3 with two doubles and a run scored. Over his last three games Perkins has gone 10-for-14 (.714) with four runs, three extra-base hits, and four RBI.

Tacoma also got multi-hit performances from center fielder John Andreoli (2x5, 2 R, 2B, 2 RBI), second baseman Gordon Beckham (2x5, 2 2B, 2 RBI), and catcher Chris Herrmann (2x3, 2 R, RBI, BB).
The Isotopes struck first with a run in the top of the fifth inning, but the Rainiers posted a quick answer with two runs in the bottom of the frame. Beckham swatted an RBI double to get Tacoma on the board and was followed by left fielder Ben Gamel bringing in a run on an RBI groundout to second base.
Albuquerque quickly tied the game back up at 2-2 with a solo home run to left field from Tom Murphy.
The Rainiers erupted for six runs in the bottom of the eighth to retake the lead and seal an 8-2 victory. Designated hitter Kirk Nieuwehnuis opened the rally with a bases-loaded walk that put Tacoma out in front 3-2, and it was capped by back-to-back doubles from Andreoli and Beckham that brought in three runs.
Right-hander Casey Lawrence (1-0) contributed 2.0 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just two hits and striking out one to earn his first win of the season. Ryan Cook (0.1 IP) and Erik Goeddel (1.0 IP) also saw time out of the Tacoma bullpen and limited the Albuquerque lineup to just two hits.
The Rainiers will send right-hander Rob Whalen (1-0, 5.06) to the mound as the series continues on Wednesday night at 7:05 p.m. PT. The Isotopes will hand the ball to left-hander Sam Howard (1-1, 6.00).
